Assignment of article to merch. catgry missing in classification system

Hi All,

We are in IS Retail environment.

When input a MC ref.article using t-code mm42,the system give message no.MH084,

and show it: Assignment of article to merch.catgry missing in classification system.

Then we open the screen of wg22,input the merchandise category,press F6 (change

characteristics/keyword), in the Basic Data tab, we find the value of indicator of

assignment exists is empty.

How to mark the  value and get it to work?

Hi Lynn

Can you confirm if your MC ref.article was created under the same merchandise category that you are checking against.

If you can check your MC using transaction WGUS it will give you clear view where your MC is being used.

It might also be possible that the assignment is not completed in classification tables due to some reason. You might wasnt to check that

We can create a new MC ref.article under the same merchandise category.

What is the classification system? Can you show me how to get into it?

Maybe the former colleague done something to this data,and I want to find it out.

Make sure you do a BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT after the BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT call.
Omitting the Commit will result in a material being created, but it will be mangled and one of the issues I ran into was exactly this MH084 error message
