Hello Experts,

Can Shifts patterns maintained in ECC Work center get transferred to APO resource automatically when CIFed ?

Is there any way when Shift patterns maintained in APO are transferred back to ECC work center ?

Regards

Hello,

Please refer these SAP notes

  329733 - R/3 and CIF concerning Resources

Only capacity headers are transferred to APO, currently no intervals or shifts are supported. Capacity are always transferred completely, there is no automatic change transfer when a capacity is changed in R/3. When a capacity is transferred the first time to APO the generated resource is also assigned to model 000.

674838 - Resource transfer from APO Release 4.0

The "external capacity" is an object that can consist of all the data that makes up an R/3 capacity (standard available capacity, shifts from Customizing OP4A, intervals of available capacity, reference capacities) and is sent to APO. It is still not possible to send data such as R/3 intervals or R/3 shifts directly to APO.

The Customizing indicator "Use of external capacity" recognizes three settings:

a) ' ' No external capacity

The "External capacity" is not transferred to APO and cannot be used in APO.

b) X The external capacity is set for each resource

The external capacity can be activated for each individual resource on the "Standard capacity" tab on the APO maintenance screen of the capacity header. The "External capacity" is transferred to APO and the "External capacity" indicator is set in the APO resource to determine that the "External capacity" be used in APO.

c) A External capacity for all resources

During each transfer of a resource, the "External capacity" is transferred, and the indicator set in APO. This means that each capacity does not need to be subsequently maintained individually for existing capacities.

The "External capacity" is only stored once for each resource in APO and is therefore identical for each planning version. The APO indicator "External capacity" can, however, be activated or deactivated as normal for a specific planning version. If the indicator is indicated, the system directly accesses the "External capacity", which cannot be changed in APO. Only downtimes and changes made in the "Capacity profile" have an impact on the "External capacity" (they are overwritten).

This means that you can easily switch between the APO capacity and the "external capacity", you can maintain downtimes, and change a specific "external capacity" in the capacity profile (for simulation purposes, for example).

Hello Brahmankar,

Thanks for you explanation !. Also wanted to check

Is there any way when  changes in Shift patterns maintained in APO are transferred back to ECC work center ? to keep both both systems in Sync.

As per our understanding master data transfer is unidirectional from ECC to APO.

Hello,

I don't think in standard SAP there is any way to transfer the Shift pattern from APO to ECC.

Yes master data transfer is always from ECC to APO.
