Hello All,

As part of S4 conversion, Customer/Vendor master needs to converted into business partner. I have done the configuration as mentioned in the OSS note 2210486. But the Customer/Vendor Table and CVI tables are not in Sync.  Can anyone help in understanding the steps to be performed for this activity. Also please let us know the steps to synchronize the Customer, Vendor to Business partner tables?

Hi Arun,

As we just finished the system conversion phase of a testing project, I would like to shared some information with you about setting CVI in the ERP system, however you should know that every company has it's own business requirements, so you should adjust some of the activities while perform the configuration of CVI in your system landscape.

Basically, the configuration of CVI consists three part, some basic configuration like postprocess office and synchronization control, then Customer Integration, and Vendor Integration.

1. Basic configuration

Use SE38 to run report CVI_FS_CHECK_CUSTOMIZING, this will give us a glance of the current system configuration about CVI.

Activate Postprocessing Office

Use transaction SPRO to activate the Postprocessing Office, its under the following path:

Cross-Application Components/General Application Functions/Postprocessing Office/Business Processes/Activate Creation of Postprocessing Orders

Synchronization Control

Cross-Application Components/Master Data Synchronization/Synchronization Control

Use transaction SM30 to check view MDSV_CTRL_OPT for queue names.

in my case the queues were:

MDS_BUPA_CUST

MDS_BUPA_VEND

MDS_CUST_BUPA

MDS_VEND_BUPA

Now back to synchronization control preparation, click on queue processing to register the RFC queues with a * mark at the end the queue name (for the four queues mentioned above).

Synchronization Objects

Cross-Application Components/Master Data Synchronization/Synchronization Control/Synchronization Control/Synchronization Objects

Activate PPO Requests for Platform Objects in the Dialog

Activate Synchronization Options

Check / Activate Function Modules

Cross-Application Components/SAP Business Partner/Data Distribution/Activate Function Modules

2. Customer Integration Configuration

Check/Define Number Range for Customer Accounts

Check/Define Assign Number Ranges to Customer Account Groups

This’s very important, based on the information in this view, we can generally decide which customer account group should be included during the configuration of CI later on. If the “Number Range” column is empty, we can assume that customer account group is not activated in the system.

Define BP Roles

For each entry of the following BP Roles in BP Role Categories, add “BPUS” and “CHAN” with “Transaction Allowed” Modification Indicator.

FLCU00

FLCU01

FLVN00

FLVN01

Define BP Role for Direction Customer to BP

The groups here were mentioned earlier in "Check/Define Assign Number Ranges to Customer Account Groups" section.

Define Number Assignment for Direction Customer to BP

Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges

Finishing up configurations

Field Assignment for Customer Integration

Perform the activities in the assign attributes section, just select CVI and mapping them with BP accordingly.

Synchronize Customer with BP by using Synchronization Cockpit

If any error occurred, you can check the error message by going to monitor section. How to deal with those errors were out of this topic, if you're lucky, you should get a green icon in the status field.

3. Vendor Integration Configuration

It's very similar with Customer Integration Configuration, I'll just list the configuration steps here:

Check/Define Number Ranges for Vendor Accounts

Check/Assign Number Ranges to Vendor Account Groups

Define BP Role for Direction Vendor to BP

Define Number Assignment for Direction Vendor to BP

Synchronize Vendor with BP by using Synchronization Cockpit

If you're not sure which vendor groups were activated in the system, you can ask your functional specialists or you can check the group one by one by using transaction MKVZ, if that group is empty, then we can excluded it.

And that's all the configuration of CVI, hope this will help you and let me know if there's anything else I can do to help!

Regards,

Michael

Hi,

This was in great detail. Thanks.

I am looking for GL master data load from legacy system to S/4HANA.

In the RDS package, I don't see any object for GL master.

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the steps. Are all these steps are done before conversion or some are done before and some are done after conversion?

All CVI steps can and should be executed before the technical S4 conversion. After conversion, you just activate SAP Credit Management (FSCM) and add role UKM000 to the debitor-business partners.
