QA16-UD status inconsistancy

Dear experts,

We need to update UD for selected inspection lots (around 2000) which has status INSP RREC. We have tested with few inspection lots in live system using QA16 "Background ' aswell as "foreground" both the cases the program is running and system status of the inspection lot is updated with UD. However, UD code is not updated and stock posting is not happened. Screen shot is attached for your reference, please suggest to overcome the issue.

As you have so many lots, is there any chance these are older lots?

Is the stock posting failing in the background due to posting periods not being opened?

See if those now with a UD show any material docuemts associated with them.  Check in QA13 and look at Extras-->Material Documents.  See if there is a material document there and for the UD stock posting screen.  If so, reveiw it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If I take one inspection lot with current period also UD and stock posting is not updating with Background and foreground but the same is happening with manual.

Are there any available log messages in the log file when you run it in the background?  Is it selecting the lot but for some reason bombing out in making the UD?

Or is it not selected at all?

You might get a developer to help you run this in debug and see if that gives you any clues.

Hi Suresh

Please lock the Results in Results Recording and make sure that your status should be 5.

If the Status is 5 then such inspection lots comes into the QA16 for Collective Usage Decision in Background/Foreground.

Hi Suresh,

You have to make sure that you have a "stock posting proposal" and Automatic posting indicator  "Active" for that UD Code which you are using for collective/automatic UD.

Use Tcode QS51 and please recheck.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using Automatic stock posting UD code only (A0), if I use  "Manual UD" in the same transaction, UD code and Stock posting is updating for the inspection lot but in "Background"/"Foreground" it is not updating. Hope it is clear now.
