Alert Inbox - Subscription and Personalization links do not work

Dear experts,

I have the XI alerts set up and working fine. But the Subscription and Personalization links on the Alert inbox work in certain computers, but not all.

The IE version is 6, SP2.

Help will not only be appreciated, but will also be rewarded!

can you compare IE privacy settings - Allow cookies ?

Michal,

I compared. The privacy is set to Low and in the Advance settings, "Override Cookie Handling" is checked. Set to accept all cookies.

Popups are not blocked in the computers where the links are not working also.

Any other settings I can look into?

Hi,

try using the same user on working and not working computer

if it will work on both it must be some IE settings

I forgot to mention that I compared the other IE settings. They are the same except the IE minor version:

Computer where it worked: 6.0.2900.2180.xpxp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

Computer where it does not work: 6.0.2900.2180.xpxp.050301-1521. This machine also has the google toolbar.

I am still not able to find out any other differences.

Do I need to upgrade/downgrade the IE version?

Hi Michal:

I fixed it by adding an entry for the server in the hosts file. The problem was IE could not resolve the URL for Personalization and Subscription.

But I think the url is missing in the configuration in the ABAP side as these 2 links are served from the BSP side. That will be the permanent fix. Our Basis guys are taking a look at it.

Figured out by myself.

a lot of times we dont get alerts coz PIRWBUSER gets locked and no alerts are triggered.this was happening with me and i wasn't getting alerts in my inbox
