Justin, this isnt WDJ specific, you could write also an APC using it. However, formatting documents / cells etc with this one is disgusting, the way of look and feel programming provided through API is very awkward, functional stuff is ok so far. There are big differences developing old and new office formats, using it, beware of this, again sloppy design.
But in fact your thoughts on this are not neccessary: its a only more or less serious Redmond API on the market with the biggest community.
