Importance of value type and activity group

Dear Experts,

What is the importance of Value type and activity group? (T-code - FMAVCDERIACTG)

Also what is the standard configuration for 'Derivation using original CO transaction and value type'. In this node i also noticed that value type like 04, 11, 21, 22, 24 (this value types are not visible in F4 help, Why?) being assigned to Original CO business transaction for which we derive a 'Activity Group for AVC'. Why?

Incase i delete some entries in this rule or add some entries how i can test the same?

Hi Rohit,

The Activity Group can be used in conjunction with an AVC Tolerance profile to determine what action the system should take when a particular Activity Group is posted. For example an you can allow payroll or cost allocation postings to be made without a warning or an error from AVC.

The value types here are CO value types (04 is Actual, 11 is statistical etc.). In general in my experience we have not altered the settings provided by SAP.
