DDIC & RFC Problem - disp + work.EXE STOPPED - Solution Manager 7.2 Hana DB

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hi everybody,

I try to install the Solution Manager 7.2 on a Windows Server 2012 R2!

As you can see I got the following ERROR during the Installation.

The DDIC and the password of the DDIC is correct, but I can not start SM3.

Unable to open RFC connection to SAP System SM3.

-> disp + work.EXE (Dispatcher)   Status -> Stopped

I restart the system and restart the installation but it doesn't solve the problem.

When I restart the SM3 at the beginning it is green, but it skips to yellow it comes to this abrupt stop.

Please guide me how to solve this connection problem.

Regards,

Mohammed Rajab

Hello Mohammed,

Can you paste the log of one of the work processes (e.g. w0 / w1 / etc.) and also the information that Yuksel mentioned from R3trans -d on the command line? This will help us understand why it is failing.

Hello Mohammed,

Make sure HANA DB is open.

Try running "R3trans -d" from cmd using sidadm user. Does it return 0? If not can you attacht trans.log file created on the same folder.

Can you also attach dev_ms, dev_disp and dev_w0 trace files?

Hello Mohammed,

Thank you for the logs, I was able to detect the issue now.

Can you please try the following? On the command line of the application server execute the following command :

hdbuserstore list

And please check if there is an entry for DEFAULT. If there is not execute the following command:

hdbuserstore set DEFAULT <hostname>:<port> <user> <password>

Where you should replace the values between < > by your specific values. If you need any help, you can check other entries, or perhaps run the same command on the HANA DB server.

After that, please execute again the hdbuserstore list command to confirm the DEFAULT key is listed, and if so, try starting again the system and let me know if that solved it.

Hi Mohammed,

That is strange. The database connection test returned succcessfully... Can you please try again to execute r3trans -d and confirm the return code is still 0?

Hi Mohammed,

You are most welcome

At least we know there is an issue connecting to the HANA DB. When you execute the r3trans -d command, it creates a file within the folder you executed the command called trans.log. Can you please provide that file to understand why it is not able to connect to the DB?

Hi Mohammed,

Thank you, but I think you sent the wrong file 😕 it should be called trans.log. You need to check on the same folder that you are when executing the R3trans -d command.

Hi Mohammed,

This is perfect thanks! It is pointing to the error I mentioned before. Can you please execute the following command and check if there is an entry for the DEFAULT key?

hdbuserstore list

If not, please execute the following command

hdbuserstore set DEFAULT <hostname>:<port> <user> <password>

That should fix your issue!

Hi Mohammed,

Exactly, and can you confirm the details are correct? I suspect they might be wrongly defined.

Is the user SAPABAP3 right? And the hostname and password? That error message is usually linked to an authentication problem on that, and the log file is pointing to an error on the DEFAULT key so I would recommend that you change the DEFAULT key and set it again with the correct parameters, and that should fix the issue

Hi Rui,

so many thanks.

Now we pinged the linux system (Linux Server (set the HANA DB on it)) from the Windows Server 2012 R2 (Solution Manager 7.2 (goal:-))) and find out, I couldn't  ping the Linux Server.

We try to get the connectivity?

I will post / reply the result.

Thanks and best regards,

Mohammed

Hi Mohammed,

Absolutely, glad to be of some assistance

Have you confirmed that you have added the respective hostnames to the hosts file on both servers? You should check that the hosts file on windows can resolve the hostname to the HANA DB server, and also from linux check that the hosts file is resolving the hostname to the Application Server. Let me know if that helped!

Hi,

Database was not connected after checking for secure store according to the trans.log provided by you. It seems that secure store entries are not validated for database connection. Could you please check it with the following note. You need to either update the SSFS entries again or disable SSFS connection and try again.

2168574 - rc=111:Connection refused to HANA after migration using SSFS
