Approvers not considered via role mapping

Former Member

Dear All,

We have mapped the one of the role to two other on two different systems. The mapped roles do not have any approvers .

We have checked the consider parent approver assignment. The request submitted with these roles are routed to no approver path inspite of consider parent approver assignment box checked for these roles.

Debug logs states that GRAC_ROLEOWNER returned empty user ID for the line items having the mapped roles.

Any help on this issue is much appreciated!!

Regards,

Vinaya

Hello,

Not sure, but role mapping when you say is different than parent and child role approver concept

Hi Prasant,

We do not use BRM . But have used the role mapping concept available in role maintenance

Enable Role Mapping.. parameter 2014

The application allows you to assign roles as child roles (or map the roles). This allows

anyone who is assigned this role to be assigned the authorizations and access for the

child roles.

Set the parameter value to YES to enable this functionality. The role mappings are

applicable for provisioning access requests.

Note: On the Role Maintenance screen, you can select the Consider Parent Role

Approver checkbox to use only the approvers associated with the parent roles and ignore

any approvers associated with the child roles.

Role Mapping●

Role mapping allows related roles to be mapped to a single role●

The related roles are provisioned when a single role is provisioned●

Role mapping is part of the rule definition●

Determines which other roles a user will get when a particular role is assigned●

When a user gets a role in the system defined in the Source Connector, the user also gets the role in the system defined in the Target Connector

Thanks for the reply Prasant.

We have the same setting for another role and it works fine.

We have enabled the consider parent assignment approver for these child roles.

Inspite of it ,during the approval the approvers are not returned by GRAC_ROLEOWNER agent.

Also it is so that if we have the entry for the role and approver in the table GRACROLEAPPRVR, approver is fetched during the workflow.

Since the entry for the child role doesn't exist in this table.

Hello Vinaya,

Just searched for applicable SAP notes, please check if these are implemented:

1903846 - Consider Parent Assignment approvers not considered for WF

2001377 - UAM: Parent Assignment approvers not considered for routing

Thanks for the reply Zoltan.

Forgot to mention that we are on SP12 GRC 10.1 version.

So the above SNOTEs are not relevant.

Dear Khusboo,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

The note is not applicable for our system. We are on GRC 10.1 SP 12 already.
