Job for deleting log and dump entries

Hi All, Kindly let me know  regarding the job SAP_REORG_ABAPDUMPS, will it delete the ABAP dumps after retention period. Also , job SAP_REORG_JOBS , will it delete the SM21 logs after retention period. And how we can check the retention period for both ST22 dumps and SM21 logs. Regards, Ankit

Hi Ankit,

For ST22 dumps retention, the retention period is defined by the variable of program RSSNAPDL within job SAP_REORG_ABAPDUMPS.

For SM21 system logs retention, please refer to Increase System Log size or set Retention Period - Application Server Infrastructure - SCN Wiki

Partly correct

Job SAP_REORG_ABAPDUMPS is used for eliminating ABAP dumps.

Job SAP_REORG_JOBS is used for deleting old background jobs from the system.

48325 - Mainly parameter records in the syslog

RSBTCDEL2 is the newer program that deletes old job log files, pay attention to variants you can edit in se38 for your company's specific period retention requirements.

Always follow the notes for the standard sap reorg housekeeping jobs.

16083 - Standard jobs, reorganization jobs

1411877 - New standard jobs

The job called SAP_REORG_ABAPDUMPS  it will call Pgm RSSNAPDL in which we can specify

the job called SAP_REORG_JOBS

here u can define time limit
