Portal Upgrade

We are in the process of upgrading from SP4 to SP5, In portals,

There are several pages created in the portal content in SP4 P2,

How can I backup these developed content that and then have it working in say SP5. I am hoping this would hold good for any upgrade say from Patch 2 to Patch 3.

Guide mentions that note 1026055 should explain this, but it doesnt exists in the service market place. SAP has changed the note and may be not updated in the guide or may be I am missing the correct note.

For custom developed content why don't you simply create a Transport Package with the portal objects and export to your desktop then re-import if needed.
