Dynamic Start and End of year date variant

Hi SAP experts,

Currently, I do not see any dynamic date selection that directs to start and end of the year when creating a new variant? Is there a way such that my variant changes its year to current year automatically? For example variant1, has date 01/01/2016 to 12/31/2016. By next year, the same variant should display 01/01/2017 to 12/31/2017. Is this possible?

There doesn't seem to be a dynamic option for the year (not sure why) but in such cases we use the selection variables (first option in the dropdown: "Table variable from TVARVC").

These variables need to be pre-defined and they can be updated programmatically. We use non-standard fiscal calendar, so our months end on some odd days, not on the actual last day of calendar month. We have the whole bunch of the selection variables and a small program that runs daily and updates them based on today's date.
