we are trying to understand if it's possible to eliminate BW uploads from ECC to APO after upgrading both systems to HANA. the goal is to read historical sales data for DP directly from ECC without BW.

There is a clear NO to your question. BW will still be the crucial data feeding part / underlying part of APO DP for staging and the data provisioning component for any corporate BI reporting.

BUT, the loading processes will be significantly accelerated.

Hi,

Currently this is still not possible. APO on HANA provides almost the same functionalities as before, end users may not be able to notice much difference because the changes are mainly technical changes.
