HTTPS with Client Auth

I am looking specific information in looking at cases where to configure XI system for HTTPS with client auth , i know how to configure HTTPS with Basic Auth.

Specifically in sequencey of steps for importing client certificates and particularly making this scenario work :

External client <=> XI System.

Any directions greatly appreciated. i have already seen the blog of Rahul on the same.

Please advice.
