NW Gateway Landscape Question

We are doing the Central Hub Approach.

We have NWD system as the Netweaver Gateway with SAP Netweaver 7.4.

We have ECD system as the SAP Business Backend System with SAP Netweaver 7.4

We want to model and implement the service in the Gateway NWD System.

The RFC Function modules to get the Business data will be in the ECD system. 

Should we be disabling the Netweaver Gateway in ECD (Backend system)??  using /IWFND/IWF_ACTIVATE.

Can you please shed some light on this topic?

Gopi,

Yes, you can deactivate Gateway in ECD system. (Even if you are modeling and implementing in ECD).

On other hand is there any reason why you want to develop on NWD?. Even in Central Hub architecture, SAP recommendation is to code and model in ECD.
