Hi,
While we import SOLIDWORKS assembly into SAP PLM - ECTR through Import On Demand option, the tree structure is similar to what is in SLW. After importing when we take into assembly window, the display of SLW file structure is in alphabetical sequence and hence the BOM generation and explosion of BOM will be as per the assembly window display.
Actual requirement should be like what it is in the SLW tree structure when opened in SOLIDWORKS, i.e the assembly window should display the assembly structure as-is to that of SLW tree structure.
Is there any settings to be enabled...?
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Arun,
in the Assembly window you will not reach your target. But have you tried the application structure already? This window shows you the document structure from CAD enriched with informations from SAP. You can send the document structure from CAD to this window directly.
But unfortunately even there the structure is sorted so that you not have the CAD sort order.
The transfer of sort order from CAD is not supported for now But we will consider your requirement for future releases.
Regards!
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your reply...
However, this is not what is expected...
The Assembly window should have the same structure as that of CAD document structure which in turn will output my BOM as per the CAD structure.
Currently the BOM output is similar to Assembly window structure (In ascending order) and this is not acceptable to my customer...
How do we address this issue now...?
Thanks
Arun Prasad
Hi Arun,
as I wrote this is not supported for now. But you can address your requirement at SAP. There is SAP note 2307014 where is described how you can do this.
Regards!
Stefan
