Digital Signature for Invoice

Please let me know, is it possible to do the digital signature for SAP invoice?.

If yes please let know the setup.

"Digital signature" is technically not the same as "scan a signature and add bitmap to the form". The latter is a trivial task that has been discussed multiple times in ABAP/output forum. The former is a more complex concept that can be found in SAP documentation and notes. But they're frequently mixed up on SCN, unfortunately.

Kindly make sure to search in Google before posting and at least put more details in the question to begin with. Also always check with an ABAPer locally before posting technical questions on SCN.

Adobe Forms is the answer for implementing Digital signature. There are a couple of posts on how to do this, in ABAP Development space.

We can do it via any of following 2 ways :

Option 1: This option will work for simple requirement i.e. signature is static in nature

1) Scan the signature and store it in image format . An abaper knows how to do this.

2) While converting it to PDF attach the signature via custom routine in Smartform.

Option 2:

Use any specialised scanning solution if the requirement is more complex for e.g. E-

Scanning or Imagesoft

Option 2 will involve cost.

Hi

Usually we print one statement on bottom of the print which indicates that "This is computer generated document and doesn't require a manual signature" or something like that. I don't see any obligation in not printing the invoice.

If they still want it then you can talk about it with your ABAPER and put the scanned image of signature at bottom of the print.

Is Digitally signed Invoices a legal requirement in one of the Country that your client operates?

Thanks Jignesh,

Currently my client is print the PDF invoices , then signed it and scans and send to customer.

Now no. of invoices has increased and printing ,scanning and all it will be cumbersome task.

That's why they need invoice should be digitally signed while generating through SAP.

SAP have provided this option to certain countries and you can find those countries in IMG > Sales and Distribution > Billing > Country specific features.

If your client are not operating their business in any of those countries, then, you need to add the required text in the existing smart form
