PPDS - Scheduling

Hi Experts,

Is there a method to re-schedule respecting the requirements date?

We have a requirement where if an order is scheduled later than the demand date due to some constraints and when we re-schedule , it takes either the earliest slot available (which is not closer to the requirements date) which means that we will have to stock it and then utilize it.

(Example: If due to reasons such as planning time fence or unavailability of slots closer to the requirement date during the current MRP run the planned orders are scheduled in the future i.e., the due date of the order is violated. Assuming now there is availability of slot closer to the requirements date, they expect the system to re-schedule the planned order which was already scheduled in the future to come sit in the slot which is closer to the requirements date)

Is there a way to re-schedule respecting the requirements date into consideration?

Thanks,

Rajan.

Hi Rajan,

In the Strategy Profile, tab Strategy Parameters f. Dependent Objects, there are settings for consideration of pegging.

This can generally be used when it is unwanted that a receipt will be rescheduled such that its Availability Date is after the Requirements Date of the pegged demand.

When turned on, the system may reschedule the demand to a later date to keep the pegging relationship, if the planned order cannot be scheduled on time. If the planned order cannot be scheduled on time and the demand also cannot be rescheduled (e.g. because it is a Sales Order or a Dependent Demand whose activity is fixed), a scheduling error may occur.

Regards,

Tiago
