Hello There,
Just wanted to know if somehow when alert is received in alert inbox (Technical Monitoring>Alert Inbox) if it can play sound. It would help people to know new alert is received without having constantly watching the alert inbox screen.
Eager to hear it is achieved by someone within Sol Man without a custom development of such kind. Let me know if more details are required.
Thanks & Regards,
Rupesh
Hi Rupesh,
Why not send email, SMS or Whatsapp notifications to alert processor? watching screen is not a good idea, sitting around the screen and listening sound even worse.
Thanks,
Mike

Agreeing with Mike here, don't think anyone is waiting for a sound upon an alert, at least not someone that I know . A dashboard screen of alert inbox probably works when you've got let's say a thousand SAP systems to support, then you'll almost always have something on that screen ,work to do let's say. Otherwise, notifications are most likely the way to go .
Hello Tom, Mike
requirement behind this idea was like no alerts are missed (though doesn't happen while people monitor prod system however lets say human error) because somebody sleeping before the monitoring dashboard or overlooked a alert if the frequency is too much for a longer period of time.
Also, lets say if somebody really didn't acknowledged alert in alert inbox for an hour so a sound alarm would help people understand something is still in queue without acknowledgement.
One more thing brought to me was if sound is not possible can solution manager send a mail or sms if an alert is not acknowledged for 30 mnts or an hour...any ideas around it??
I know e-mail and SMS can be sent but as stated above after a delay of few mnts not sure if can be achieved without any custom work.
Thanks for your response anyways..it matters !!
