Determine Portal Server in Application

Hi, I would like to be able to determine the current portal server id in my VC App. I'm doing this so I can dynamically generate some links.

Is it possible to determine the portal server in a VC app?

I think this is not possible. Maybe you can write a webservice for this requirement.
