Project closing in AUC status

Hi All,

My Project is investment project without investment management.

My user wants the WBS to be closed in AUC status. He has earlier closed one WBS in AUC status in year 2012.

Both positive case & current WBS belong to same project.

Can anybody explain what is the procedure & Precautions to be taken to do so.

Please find attached doc.

NOTE: The positive case of WBS in AUC status was closed in year 2012

            The current WBS they are closing in this year 2016.

Issue is in closing a particular WBS of the project.

I am getting error message " Balance of WBS is not zero"

PROCEDURE: settle the object before you close it.

Sudhindra,

Please check for actual costs in AUC and move them by settling to an Asset or back to WBS and then from WBS to another object.

At the time of closure your WBS and AUc should not have any actual costs.

Even down paymments and Open commitments should be cleared

Hi Vittal,

Actually User wants project to be closed in AUC status . please see the screen shot of positive case wherein WBS  is closed in AUC status in year 2012.

Now User wants another WBS in the same project to be closed in this year 2016.

I checked SL_ALR_558 report and even CJI5 report but no commitments are there.

Please find the attached screen shot in my earlier post related to this issue.

There are two things as per your screenshot

one there are actual costs in the WBS

post a screenshot of Cji3 report

second the user status also matters but only after the actual costs are settled to another object

you cannot hold costs and close

Hi Vittal,

When project is closed we wont get AUC status in WBS, we get CLSD along with SETC status.

But here in positive screen shot user says he has closed WBS in AUC status in year 2012.

now asking me to close in AUC status this year 2016, without doing final settlement to asset(FXA)

But then where will the actual costs go?

i need to check how did he manage to do that since it cannot allow closure in AUC unless you change the message condition from error to warning and close. But that is a technical tweak. It is not a good practice for Business.

Hi Vittal,

Even I was surprised to see both CLSD & AUC status for closed project. Usually AUC system status should not show when project is closed.
