Hi
is there any way in SAP IQ 16 to 'grant select on schema'.
We want 'tom' to automatically have 'select' rights on any tables owned by 'bob' ... including nay that are created in the future.
Been looking at this for a while and I can't figure it out.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Mike
Hi,
IQ has a similar functionality like synonym.
Please refer to below blog and KBA for details.

Hello
thanks for coming back ... unfortunately its not exactly what I was after. This method relies on explicitly granting 'select' on individual tables to USER_TEST_GROUP.
I want to implement the equivalent of say 'GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA STAGING TO TOM'. TOM would implicitly inherit 'select' on any tables owned by schema STAGING ... even if they are yet to be created.
Its a while since I did any DBA work and I'm thinking this isnlt possible in Oracle but is in MS SQL Server ... but wondering if possible in IQ?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Mike
