Is it possible to self learn HANA?

Former Member

Little background about myself. I have 10 years experience in software development especially in .NET. I have pretty solid experience in T-SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL which including very complicated queries and/or triggers and stored procedures. I have been working 70% of my time in data conversions (from mainframe to RDBS or to ETL tool etc.) in my current job and am very comfortable with RDBS.

Question: Is it possible to self learn HANA and get a certification? If so, where should I start? It's really appreciated if you can send me a web page where I can find more details of how to obtain a certification myself.

Hello Jessica.

Information on certifications can be seen here:

https://training.sap.com/shop/sap-search/certifications?q=HANA

I would recommend to start with HA100, HA200 and HA250. If youre interested in modelling on HANA then I would suggest HA300.

Please see this blog for tips and tricks on how to study for the certs:

As you are new to the community I will advise that all this information is very easily searched without opening a thread, but as you are new, you now know .

Good luck with your journey.

Hi Jessica,

there ar many entry points to start but it depends on what you want to do with HANA. Join https://open.sap.com and have a look at SAP HANA Essentials, join SCN SAP HANA Developer Center and have a look at http://go.sap.com/developer/topics/sap-hana
