Solman Version needed for ECC 6 EHP8 upgrade

Hi Basis Expert,

Please let me know what version of Solution Manager is needed for the upgrade from ECC 6 EHP 5 to ECC 6 EHP8 for generating the stack xml file.

I could not find the solution manager version details in the ECC 6 EHP8 Upgrade Guide

The Maintenance Planner which is mandatory for ECC 6 EHP 8 Upgrade needs Solution Manager 7.1 SP5 or above.

Hello Anil,

In addition to Gaurav Kumar Pandey, you should have synchronized your system data to SMP.

When you are using maintenance planner it gets the current component versions of your system data from SMP System Data section.

If system data is not currnet in SMP, you can upload your system's current using LMDB.

Hi Anil,

You already seem to have the needed details.
For EHP8 , you generate the stack.xml from maintenance planner so as far as stack.xml is concerned, whatever is pre-requisite for maintenance planner is only thing which you need to take care.

So I am not really sure about what other pre-requisute you are looking for.

Recommendation is to always have the latest patch level for your solution manager system but as long as its stack.xml , I think you already have the answer.
