Migration of ECC servers

Hi Experts,

last year development server (ECC) has been migrated from IBM servers to our company servers. Do we necessarily need to change the configurations in managed system configurations from OLD to New servers in the solution manager.

Thanks

Hi Shanmuka,

you always need to keep your managed system configuration up to date when you do changes. It's always worthwhile having a look through if all lights are still on green.

If you moved the install to new servers I would start off with updating LMDB to make sure the configuration there is still OK.

In managed system configuration make sure that your diagnostic agents and system parameters are reflecting the new servers and working.

Also double check that the trusted system configuration is still intact (by testing the trusted system RFCs). If they fail you might want to re-establish the trusted / trusting system configuration in SMT1.

Cheers

Hi Shanmuka,

Yes, you need to complete manage system configuration once again as you have changed hosts. Along with this cleanup old system( server) obsolete entries also which are associated with your development system SID, Database etc.

Thanks,

Thank you for response.I have one more doubt like, do we need to install seperate diagnostic agents in each host that are connected newly.

Thanks

Yes, you need to install SMD Agents on all new hosts then only you will be able to complete Managed System configuration properly/completely.

Thanks,
