Requirement: Forecasting at different levels

Forecasting to be done considering Distribution Channel.

Case1 – If Distribution Channel = “Export”

Forecast at level - Product – Customer – Distribution Channel

Case 2 – If Distribution Channel = “Local”

Forecast at level – Product – Customer [No Distribution Channel level to be considered]

Master Data-

Product Number (is defined as root) attribute of Product

Customer & Distribution Channel (both defined as root) attributes of Customer

Base Planning Level of Statistical Forecast Quantity Keyfigure

Period| Product | Customer | Distribution Channel

Issue

Forecast is generated in planning view with Planning Level selected as

Product | Customer | Distribution Channel as per the requirement of Case 1.

But when trying to calculated the Forecast at [Product | Customer] for Case 2 it is not getting generated.

Error Message – Forecast cannot be generated at an aggregated level

How can forecast be executed at different planning level?

Also how forecast can be generated based on attributes?

Hi Prakash,

I had similar issue with yours. Here are the findings:

In order to allow statistical forecasting to run on aggregate level, the output forecast key figure must be editable. Before IBP 5 patch 12 this was not possible as marking the Key Figure as editable would have resulted into job execution error.

Since the latest patch, you can mark your KF as editable and provide disaggregation rule. As a workaround, you should restrict the writing permission via authorization object.

In IBP 6 there is a new option for the KF "Edit allowed" as"System editable".
