Hi - We are using SMP 3.0 with databases on Oracle. Our DBA has asked if it is possible to install multiple SMP servers using one database with multiple schemas. Has anyone tried this and does it work?
Yes I have setup multiple SMP servers against the same database using different logins/schema. I was using SQL Server instead of Oracle but the premise is the same.
Thanks Bill! Do you recall if all required DB config changes can be made in the SMP install process (i.e., no extra/additional steps needed before or after the SMP install)?
No additional steps is required. Follow the same process with a different system and enter the same DB server details and you should be able to set it up.
I have done it with SQL server and with 2 SMP servers.
