Het Sys copy - BW on HANA

Hi,

I am trying to do a Het Sys Copy of my BW on HANA system ( NW SPS 15).

The 2 of the exports fail.

1 of them is for a view that does not exist ( I wonder why it comes up them but that is not so much of a problem).

The export fails with the following

DbSl Trace:   execute() of C_0018, #rec=0, rc=1, rcSQL=129

DbSl Trace: EXECUTE C_0018 on connection 0, rc=129

(EXP) ERROR: DbSlPrepare/BegRead failed

  rc = 99, table "/BIC/AZEPMDS0200"

  (SQL error 129)

  error message returned by DbSl:

transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 10001001: Search result size limit exceeded: 5422482983

Now, here is some history that might be relevant.

1. I did not have a HDB_TABLE_CLASSIFICATION.TXT file, even though i have run SMIGR_CREATE_DDL

2. before running i have also executed SHDB_Group_tables_load_based although this probably is not mandatory for BW.

Please can someone help me so that the table can be migrated ?

Many thanks

Anamika

Hello Anamika,

You say doing a Het Sys Migration of HANA. Are you migrating to HANA on Power or going from one of the supported Linux flavours to another ?

So the table in question is has over 5 billion entries. Cross check that by doing a simple select count(*) from the table.

Have you looked at the following note (Area: Records):

2154870 - How-To: Understanding and defining SAP HANA Limitations

It looks to me as though you will have to split this table so that your intermediate result does not exceed the limit as stated in the note.

Many thanks Amerjit for your reply.

I am going from one to Linux.

Yes the table has 5 bn rows.

Its also partitioned and i was hoping that the SMIGR_CREATE_DDL program would handle that.

I will proceed towards splitting this table manually as suggested.

Many thanks once again.

Best regards

Hi Anamika,

I was just thinking about it but I've never tried it myself. Both your Linux are Little Endien.

Maybe you could check with SAP about:

1. A simple backup/restore

2. Using HANA System Replication.

Maybe or Former Member might be able to give you an answer on that one.

I'll also dig around to see if anything is written on the subject.

I am also doing system copy of HANA DB with classical system copy method using R3load. Did you find resoultion of this issue ?
