We've been running Info Steward for a few years now, and we are accumulating a fair amount of job history. This includes the rule score calculation jobs, as well as the internal utilities such as Purge and Calculate Scorecards.
While the Purge job appears to trim the Info Steward results in the repository, it doesn't appear to include the job history itself, which just seems to grow and grow. There isn't anything useful to me in knowing that a job completed or failed over a year ago. How do I purge these various forms of job history?
I can go into each job or utility history listing, and delete jobs one-by-one. It takes 10 or more seconds to delete one and refresh the list. The history list won't let me select more than one at a time. Obviously this is a silly way to clean out old job history.
What is the proper efficient way to do this? Thanks for any help or advice.
Hi Alan,
You can select multiple tasks and delete them from IS tasks tab. It will wipe out all the jobs and history.
You may want to take backup of task(job) name and scheduled timings.
You will have to recreate all the tasks and schedule them again.

Hi Allen,
If you go into the CMC>Information Steward then highlight Metadata Management the click on the actions drop down. You'll see the limits option appear. More than likely the delete excess instances isn't checked. Check it and make the amount to 50 instances or whatever you want.
By default this isn't checked. Depending on how much history you have. Will determine how long it takes to clear up. So check it every day to see if it's going away or not.

Yes, I found "Limits" under both Data Insight and Metadata Management. (In our case, we aren't using Metadata Management; just Data Insight. Data Insight did already have it checked on. Metadata management did not, so I enabled it also just in case.)
Unfortunately, it's been two days and I haven't seen any reduction in the job histories for InfoSteward Purge, Calculate Scorecard, or rule scoring task jobs.
Is there another place these may roll up to; some higher-level Data Services or Info Platform Services purge job that needs to be enabled or scheduled?

You have the correct ones for this application. Take a look at the last entry and note the date on it. Then come back and look in a few days to see if it's still the last one. I have seen this take some time for companies that have many pages of history.
It'll work. Unless you really have an issue. In that case you'd need to log a ticket with the admin team.
