ST03/ST03N empty in a S/4 Hana system

in my two system S/4 Hana (NetWeaver 7.5 SP03 based) I have always ST03 empty. No statistical data are collected. The report SWNCCOLL is scheduled...

Hello Ashutosh,

we need to know first, if the workload collector job is scheduled and if it is running. This is an already known issue on S4 HANA on premise. Most likely there are some other standard jobs which do not run on the system and not only ST03 is affected. The SAP note 2311392 describes it.

Hello Ganimede,

it does not make much sense to check reports in the TCOLL table if the workload collector job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR does not run. Please verify first, if you have some inconsistent released jobs since a long time in SM37. Please check released jobs from October 2015.

please take a look at the data in STAD, is the statistics available in STAD?

If the data in STAD is available you have to check workload collector log in ST03N, if it writes any additional information in its log. The log can be accessed also in SLG1 in the same client, where the SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR is running (it must be client 000).

If the data in STAD is not available, you have to check, if the SAP kernel has created stat*  files in DIR_DATA directory correctly and if the statistics is written. And you have also to check, if the time zone setting is correct in the system.

2000003 - FAQ: SAP HANA

Refer to point 20

The parameters maxfiles (default: 10 files) and maxfilesize (default: 10 MB) in the [trace] section of global.ini or a specific service control the trace file rotation. SAP HANA writes the files on a rotation basis and switches to the next file whenever the current file reached the maxfilesize limit.

The parameter global.ini --> [trace] --> maxalertfilesize defines the maximum size of alert files (default: 50 MB). When the configured size is reached, the file is compressed (including a timestamp in its name) and a new file is written from scratch.

Avoid increasing these settings unless there is a specific need. Otherwise more and / or larger files are kept for a longer time.

In ABAP stack environments you can delete files via transaction DBACOCKPIT:

DBACOCKPT -> Diagnostics -> Diagnosis Files -> Delete File(s)

On operating system level you can manually delete files if required.

In the note check the db commands.

Dear Johan,

and what is the relation of the SAP note 2000003 to the missing workload data in ST03N, which is aggregated by the workload collector job from the stat* files written by the SAP kernel?

Since the data in STAD is available, the workload collector is running, SWNCCOLL report is started, then this is most likely the error from the note 2319612. As a workaround one can try to set the parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time to a higher value (I have seen it could help).

In his screenshot it seems that he is trying to purge these logs from the system, therefore it seemed relevant if it is not feel free to ignore/delete the comment.

Hello Johan,

do you mean the warning "maximum number of rotation reached" in the workload collector log? The workload collector creates it also on the systems with different databases. The issue is not related to the HANA DB.

2311392 - SAP S/4HANA: Job Repository Jobs (Standard Jobs) released with huge delay and not executing

It describes the issue and how to resolve it. Please check in SM37, if you have standard jobs with the "released" status from October 2015, if yes, this is the issue from the note above.
