Hi Mandan,
if developing for SAP NetWeaver AS Java everything is already included in the respective SAP product download packages and installers - including the AS Java embedded JCo.
If developing for 3rd party Java application servers you can get the JCo standalone SDK downloads from the Tools & Services section here:
http://service.sap.com/connectors
Best regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan
Thanks for the updates. I was trying to install NWDS but it was asking for UID/Pword while trying to download.
I think while installing NWDS itself it will have the needed JAR files to make the connection to other components.
One more thing ...One of the consultant told ..The java AS in network have its own small dbase...or it be storing some data in the format of XML files.
I was under the impression all these systems communicate only with dbase in the underlying layer of R/3 system..though they can communicate with external data sources.
Scenario is we are uploading some docs into an app in portal.
My question was where are these docs Physically stored . The answer was it is stored in DB as part of JAVA AS.. i found it odd to have and DB as part of AS .could it be file folder or repositrty where these things gets stored.
Am totally ignorant about these hence these questions

mandan

Hi Mandan,
here you can choose your NWDS version:
https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Java/NWDS+Download+Links
here some info to get started:
there is also a special place for WD4J:
At last you will need a application server for deployment like NW Portal.
Best Regards,
Tobias
