Could please clarify my dbout, under System Catelog can I creat the Busyness System with out creating the Techinical System.
Thanks in Advance
Kumar Swamy.
Hi Kumar Swamy,
You can not Create the Business System with out Creating the Techincal System.
Reason is you should attach that Business System in techincal system
cheers

No you can't create a Business system without creating a technical system first, cause the business system is a logical representation of the technical system.
When you create a business system you will be asked for the technical system and its client number. You will create a different business system for each client of a particular technical system ex for SAP r/3 you will have one technical systema and a different business system for its 800 or 900 or 100 client..
If in you case you don't have the techincal properties of a NON -SAP system, you might create a business sevice for it in Intergartion Directory. But you need to have interface definations provided to you for that Business Service.
Cheers,
Ashish

Hi
No . First we need to create a technical system, then we need to create business system. We need to select technical system, when we create business system.
There is a one to one mapping between technical and business systems
Thanks
Sai

Hi Kumar Swamy,
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape
An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server. In the SLD, there are five types of technical systems:
Web AS ABAP:
Web AS ABAP technical systems, ranging from any SAP system to an APO server or CRM server, are based on the same Basis Component (BC), which includes the ABAP interpreter, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, and so on. A dedicated database, which stores most of the data of the BC and the application components, is associated with the system.
Web AS Java:
Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can communicate with each other.
Standalone Java :
Standalone Java technical systems are standalone Java applications that are installed in a computer system from an administration perspective. They can also be installed as an operating system service or as a daemon.
Third-Party :
Third-party technical systems contain third-party software components and products.

Hi,
First Create a Technical System and then you need to create Business Sysetm in SLD.
If you don't want to maintain the Technical System or Business System in the SLD for third party systems , you can just create a Business Service in IntegratioN Directory and proceed.
Hope this helps,
regards,
Moorthy
