Hi All,
Heavy redo logs generated during SAP HANA Replication , Database has grown to unexpected level and FS reached 100%.
and during the disturbance period we were not able to login to HANA system.
How to avoid this ? Please suggest. what could have went wrong.
Regards
Hi Sidharthmellam,
It is not very common to see a HANA Database log volume getting filled up while the System Replicaton is in progress
Can you provide more inputs:
1. Version of the system?
2. Single container or MDC?
3. Was a System Replication full sync in progress?
4. Size of the HANA Database?
5. Distance between the 2 systems (if they are in 2 Different Datacenters)?
6. System Replication mode?
We can provide our feedback based on the points above
Sunil

Hi Sidharthmellam,
For full log volume situation, please refer to the notes below:
2083715 - Analyzing log volume full situations
1679938 - Log Volume is ful
Note 2083715 also mentions what you can do in case the database is offline.

Hello,
I can't see how what you are describing can be attributed to replication (DB growth and large amounts of logs).
=> DB has grown to unexpected level.
Check what is going on in your system such as data loads. You can check table growth history by using the HANA_table_topgrowingtable_size_history script found as an attachment in note #1969700.
Q) What size is your DB and how have you sized your /hana/data and /hana/log filesystems ?
A)
Q) Finally, what revision are you on ?
A)
