SAP ERP EhP7 vs. SAP PI 7.11

All,

We are currently migrating our SAP PI 7.11 system to a SAP PO 7.4 system.

Not finished yet, but the EhP7 will be productive next week.

This means that some ABAP proxies still communicate with the SAP PI system.

Anybody experience with this situation?

More context can be found in OSS note 1388258.

Thank you, Dimitri

Hello Dimitri,

Proxy codes need to be migrated if am not wrong and you need to point to new PO system,Check the below discussion

Hi,

That is not the issue.

I'm a bit worried about the communication between an SAP ERP EhP7 system and an 'old' SAP PI 7.11 system.

Kind regards,

Hello Dimitri,

Compatibilty between these two should not be a problem with respect to proxies,Check the below link and note mentioned if you have other scenarios or suites.

That is exactly what is worrying me

And see some feedback in the thread, but I think we will have to wait (and pray) and see.

But normal ABAP proxies should not have any issue.

Hope it will work without any issues.

Hey Dimitri,

It is normal and it will not harm the abap proxies. Plus it is easy to have connection to PO and PI at the same time.

With proper plan this can be made live in phases too.  lets say if there are 30 interfaces of abap proxies running with SAP PI.

10 can be connected to SAP PO via sxmb_adm, and stop those 10 channels (interface) in PI (no change in ECC at all except the sxmb_adm entries for 10 interfaces).

Then next phase 10 more . Last phase 10 more.

And a 4th cut-over where delete all connections to PI and just have the connection to PO and make single entry in SXMB_ADM of IS_URL pointing to SAP PO. This will now enable all proxies to be connected to PO currently in system and to be added in future.

Regardds,
