Hello Everyone,
Over the past couple of years I have been configuring the following in SM59 /sap/xi/engine?type=entry when going from a backend system to XI 3.0 and /sap/xi/engine?type=receiver when going from XI 3.0 to a backend system. My backend systems are 6.40 and 7.00 WAS. I found on the SAP help page that SAP wants us using type=entry for all SM59 configurations regardless of the direction of the communication:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/85/78af1bf407434796aaf8dbd6d4e7b7/frameset.htm
Can someone please explain why SAP no longer wants us to use type=receiver? Does anyone know if they are going to phase this out?
Thanks,
Eric
is there a reason why they changed to this? I noticed type=receiver still works though with 6.40 and 7.00 systems.
thanks
Eric

hi Eric,

since it was for a couple of years - you were working with WAS 6.20
with WAS 6.40 use type = entry
