Guys

I am really struggling here... I cannot for the life of me get my SAP for Java on Mac to connect to our SAP servers 😞

I have a feeling my connection string is wrong, can someone please help me get my connection working?

Hello Michael,

yes, this is what I assuming. We are looking into it using the saplogon.ini content you have posted.

What commands did you try, what was the error message?

Best regards

Rolf-Martin

We found an issue when converting only with saplogon.ini, but not having a SapLogonTree.xml file.

We are looking into this.

You can try with following SAPUILandscape.xml file

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Do I save your reply into an XML file?

Save it to a plain text file with name SAPUILandscape.xml and put it in

/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/SAP

Ok - The SAP Java client on my Mac accepts the file, but nothing else happens?

Shoul I post my saplogontree file?

Please have a look at chapter 5.1.2 Configuration Files in the manual coming with SAP GUI for Java (available in screen menubar Help > SAP GUI Help).

Either put the file URL like file:///Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/SAP/SAPUILandscape.xml directly in to SAP UI Landscape field in preferences

or have a configuration file including a line like

@SAPUILANDSCAPE = "<path_to_(central)_Landscape.xml>"

In both cases it can be a file or http URLs and point to some local or central (share, web server ...) location.

I dont have such a folder on my Mac?

Can i not just make a connection string to enter into the SAP GUI on Mac OS?

Assuming your user for example is "michael", I would expect there exists a folder

/Users/michael/Library/Preferences/SAP/

Anyways, of course you can add the connection strings manually without a landscape configuration in the advanced tab in the connection dialog using connection strings described in the manual in 5.3 Technical Background.

I dont have such a folder:

I am unsure how to make sure the connection string should look, can you help me with the correct string using my saplogin.ini?

Thanks

please refer to

regarding the Library folder in your home directory

That was dumb of me... Sorry 🙂

Got the folder, now I just need the SAP client to read it 🙂

That seems to work although I cant connect as I am not connected to my corporate network...

Does it look right to you? 🙂

That would be a direct connection to the application server. Assuming the IP and port numbers are correct, this should be ok.

For using load balancing, the connect string for the first item in your saplogon.ini would be

conn=/M/10.100.17.2/S/3602/G/P01-Group

Could be caused by not being able to reach the IP-Address, or by a port number, nobody is listening to.

Did you try also my recent suggestion?

conn=/M/10.100.17.2/S/3602/G/P01-Group
