I am looking for documentation on procedure to uninstall Web AS 6.40 SR1 on Windows OS . Any pointers to this info will be appreciated.
Regards,
Winston
Hi all,
I did an unorthodox way of uninstalling it. Any installation resides in Registry, Services and Hard Drive.
So, uninstall all in the same way.
* Stop Web App Server.
* Remove all instances of SAP WAS in the hard drive.eg: sapinst_dir, ./usr/sap/..., SAP data files in your backend directory.
* Remove the registry contents.
* Remove the services.
* Restart the System.

Ananda,
a) sapinst.exe does not provide "Uninstall" option
b) Uninstallation of Web AS is not possible through "Add/Remove Programs".

This is a 1/2 year old question, and I had the same question, too. So I just post what I found in case someone needs it in the future.
Actually SAP provides an uninstall wizard in the WAS installation package. For example, for SP13, it's ..\SAPINST-CD\NT\I386\UNINSAP.EXE. After uninstalling WAS, you could use the database uninstall tool to remove the database.
Thanks.

Hi,
Start sapinst.exe from the source where you had started the installation. or go to Add-Remove Programs and uninstall.
