Hi Experts,
For creating an xml for an upgrade, we are working with SAP and they want us to remove the kernel components in LMDB from the systems for which you are copying the stack xml with report RPT_MOPZ_COPY_STACK_XML.
I am trying to delete the kernel components but its not deleting and says:
Software component version 'SAP KERNEL 7.42 64-BIT UNICODE (KRNL64UC 7.42)' was supplied automatically
Message no. LMDB_BO122
Diagnosis
There are automatic data suppliers that register technical systems automatically to SAP Solution Manager. The installed software component version was registered by such an automatic data supplier. This data is usually reliable and should not be removed manually.
Check whether a change is really required.
Procedure
If the technical system is wrong, check that the automatic data supplier for the managed technical system still delivers data.
Procedure for System Administration
By default, the system prevents the deletion. To override the default, set the user parameter LMDB_AUTO_DS_OVRWRT to '06'. This will allow the deletion and change of automatically supplied information.
As mentioned in the above message from LMDB I have given this parameter to my id and logged back in and tried deleting. But still it won't delete.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Asad
Hi Asad,
You can use parameter LMDB_AUTO_DS_OVRWRT to manually assign or remove product instance. I don't think we can do it for Kernel files. Why Kernel file needs to be deleted, Can we generate a stack file without kernel File? I am not sure about it. Let see other experts advise.

Hi Kartik,
Yes MOPZ will calculate the kernel as well. Our issue is that we had generated the MOPZ 6 months back, and were had used the same xml for 3 different landscapes viz dev, qa and pre-prod. Now when we try to use the same xml for our test system its complaining that the xml contains no applicable stacks.
SAP had suggested to use the report RPT_MOPZ_COPY_STACK_XML to generate the xml for the test system. When we try the report its complaining that the kernel doesn't match between the 2 systems. This is true as the test system was upgraded to the newer kernel. So SAP has suggested to remove the kernel from LMDB and create the xml. So, thats where I am stuck. Please advice.
Thanks,
Asad
Hi Anil,
Yes, this worked for me as well for 3 landscapes, but for the current landscape its complaining about kernel.
All, I was able to delete the kernel from LMDB, issue was with parameter LMDB_AUTO_DS_OVRWRT to '06', which had to be 06 instead of 6. But even after deleting and saving the config I am not able to generate the xml which give below error.
Thanks,
Asad

Have a look for SAP KBA 2031584 - How to manually assign product instances to systems in LMDB & SAP Note 1999178 - Changing predefined LMDB settings or user parameters
Hope this will help you.
Good luck !!
