Not all items displayed due to missing authorization

Hi all,

Good day.

I created some new users and given them rights of Purchase order creation, change and display. Now the user has a problem that in displaying of purchase order( ME23N), data is not coming in description.

I given again the authorization objects M_BEST_BSA, M_BEST_WRK, M_BEST_EKO, M_BEST_EKG to the same user, but again and again he is coming with this message.

I searched , but i couldn't find a reply.

Can anyone help me quickly

Hello Praveen,

Why don't you use SU53?

Or ST01 Authorization check?

What is the detailed message also? (Click on the message)

Thanks for the reply.

In su53 there is no missing authorization data. The message coming while clicking is 06198.

Kindly help me in this situation. I tried all the possible objects.  But still showing the same message

Hello Praveen,

Start authorization trace using ST01 for the user A who can display the data.

Login with user A

Run transaction and display data.

Stop trace.

Display trace data for user A.

Check all authorizations coming with trace and assign any missing ones.

If that is the case, then the missing should be shown in su53 right?  But it's not showing anything in su53.

Hi Praveen,

First enable trace ST01 for that user then analysis the result of trace then we can come to a conclusion whether it is an authorization or any other functional issue.

You are right but I am not 100% sure about SU53 and auth trace relation.

If I were you I would try trace, too.

Great news Praveen.
Just to add that from SAP R/3 4.70, there is an option of using the BAdI's ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST and ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST to check additional authorization objects. Do also check: SAP Note 751129 Authorizations in Enjoy Transactions in Purchasing.

Hi Praveen,

Did you assign desired purchasing group to role M_BEST_EKG for the affected user.

The activity and plant authorization for the relevant purchasing document type must be maintained.

The data in the TCode ME23N (POs) are in the tables STXH (Header texts) and STXL

(Item texts). Can you check the contents of these tables; at times it is possible that this is not an authorization issue.

Are all users facing this?
