Error while Generating HTML error

Hi Experts,

We have got an error " Error while Generating HTML error" after execution of the Bw report in the portal, during the Free Characteristic Drill down in the required Format. But the same report is executing fine with out issue in Bex. would any please assist on this.. Why we will get this type of errors?

Hello Anilkumar

Some consideration first.

Go to transaction RSRT - Display Mode HTML.

Run the same query with same drilldown there.

Just be sure no issue occurs on RSRT.

If it is ok on RSRT, check two things:

1 - run the BI Diagnostics - See note 937697, and be sure that your Portal is correctly configured.

2 - Check the BI Java patches. They cannot be at level 0
   - See note 1899396 - Patch Level 0 for BI Java Installation - Detailed Information

3 - Be sure the ABAP and Java combination is consistent

  - 1961111 - BW ABAP/JAVA SPS dependencies for different Netweaver release and BI JAVA patch updating relevant

Hi John,

We can see the issue is resolved itself. we have not done anything.. Any idea of what caused this issue for some time ..

Everything is configured fine from portal side, since other reports were executed perfectly except this report.

Hello,

Maybe was an inconsistency on the infoprovider or the query and someone correct it. It is hard to say right now.

Check the query time stamp. Maybe someone fix a query inconsistency
