Physical Inventory for Depot plant

HI,

We are carrying out physical inventory at a Depot plant and as per the process of physical inventory a material document has been generated.

The material document is carrying both the movement types 701 and 702. The stock is corrected at the inventory management level, but the same correction should get reflected in the RG23D register. So when we are trying to post the differences with reference to material document (relevant to physical inventory) in RG23D register, system will consider the material document either for J1IG or J1IJ and not for both.

For example when we post the J1IG transaction with reference to material document, material posted against 701 movement will be considered and posted. Once J1IG is posted, consider the same material document for J1IJ system gives an error that the RG23D selection already over for Material document.

Please suggest whether the process followed is correct, if not please suggest an alternative.

I prefer to have a clear process from client rather from SCN since this is interlinked to statutory requirement.

In SAP, whatever you listed out can be carried out.  Alternatively, for shortages in Depot, the Depot can follow the return process with parent plant and for excess, they need to get additional invoice for the difference in quantity.

Situations have arise where the actual physical stock is not in sink with the RG23D register. Cases where additional stock as well as short quantity dispatch at actual (physical) have been carried out. So in-order to bring the physical stock and RG23D stock in sink we need to perform the activity of physical inventory and the subsequent activity of excise /J1IDEPOTSTOCK1 correction.

To do so we are not able to book the J1IJ and J1IG transactions against the same material document.

Please Post a separate documents for 702 and 701 movement types.

if the dispatch is not done . please use A certificate option by using J1IGA for excess quantity as per laksmi Sir.
