Unable to use cProject GUID to query data in SE16

Hello,

In SE16 for, cProject tables, when you try to query out specific entries based on project GUIDs, it doesn’t work. It however works for portfolio mgmt. tables.

GUID input disppears from the field when input and submit before execution of the query.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1.      Identify a GUID from DPR_PROJECT

2.      Navigate back to query view of the table.. and search for this specific GUID.

3.      On execution, system closes the query popup and returns table query view. But the guid previously input is missing in the field.

4.      On execution of the query, result doesn’t correspond to the condition. System outputs all the table entries not considering specific GUID used as condition.

Is there any setting required for allowing system to recognize DPR related GUIDs ? Please help with the resolution in your knowledge.

Thank you.

Hi Sreeni,

this behaviour is related to the GUID conversion exit handeled by SE16 (and SE16N on ECC). This behaviour can't also be changed. Due to this restriction with GUID search of DPR*-tables in SE16 or SE16N SAP has released a GUID-analyze programm with forward-navigation.

Have a look to DPR_GUID_ANALYZE (via SE38/SA38). It has the advantage, that is searches  Projectmanagement and Portfoliomanagement tabels and provides an overview of entries found in tables. The GUIDs of the output list are clickable in terms of forward-navigation.

The report also has a big advantage, as it supports customer tables via pattern (e.g. 'Z*') in the selection screen. Additional patterns can be added easily.

It is an outcome of the great idea of Customer Connection Programm for PPM (released in cycle 1 and fine-tuned in cycle 2).

Thank you Hans...

I knew about this program.

I thought/expected things changed in the course of upgrade to new versions enabling query directly on SE16 as we do for WBS elements, functional locations using conversion exit.

Thanks again for your response.

Hi Sreeni,

unfortunately there were no changes. To be precise it is not a PPM-issue but a problem SE16/SE16N dealing with conversion exits of GUIDs. So this issue/behavior can only changed by Netweaver. I can't say if there are changes in NW 7.50 but lets hope some version in the near future will improve the GUID-search.
