Hi, were are in the process of putting SAP Lumira on our company software portal, so we can easily distribute it. It would be nice if we could auto configure the tool, so the user won't have to do that himself.
I want the following items to be set:
For #2 I found a SAP Note https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/0002189838, where can I find the settings for the other two options?
Thanks!
Xavier
Hi Xavier,
For #3 you should take a look at paragraph 4.5 of the SAP Lumira, server for BI Platform Admin. Guide. It takes about Desktop governance that allows BI platform administrators to enforce security and set default values for SAP Lumira.
Don't forget the 'No Proxy' setting .
With kind regards,
Martijn

Hi Xavier,
I have seen a few my clients do a silent install and disable the updates, so that the system admin can update the desktop and server at the same time.
But for the next two options, they usually send out steps in a document while assigning the user,
- to perform the install from Extensions and restart the application
- to save the URL of the BI Platform under Preferences
It was pretty efficient, but would be great if automated.
Thank you,
Varun Anand

Also keep in mind the following:
If you have a standardized PC platform across the company, you should be OK. But if you don't (we don't), be prepared for all kinds of pain, especially if you don't allow end users local admin access to their machines.
