OS Migration - manual and help needed

Hello,

I'm going to migrate NetWeaver 7.4 Systems from Win 2008r2 to Win 2012 r2.

I cannot find a manual from SAP where this described.

I will move the netweaver no completly no machines, Database is not affected from this.

How can i install new Instances that connect to the old database?

Hello Bastian,

1. Systemcopy from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2.

2. do a Windows in-place upgrade from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2. This can be the fastest way if your Windows runs already virtualized on VMware or Hyper-V.

Hi Bastian.

You have to follow the SAP Homogeneous system copy from old Windows 2008 to 2012.

On existing system using SWPM do the export and take the full backup of DB & USR folder.

On target system(New system) using SWPM do the import.
