Configuring Custom Fiori apps with LPD_CUST

Hello Experts,

I have one query regarding Launchpad Designing.In the Latest Version of Launchpad Designer , while doing target Mapping we have Application Type which is having the Option SAPUI5 Fiori App and SAP Fiori App using Lpd_cust.

From both the Application Types , we can do exactly the same thing , then what extra the Lpd_cust is providing. I did some research but could  not figure out the difference.

When you use LPD Cust, you have open options to configure any thing, may it be HTML page, URL, webdynpro app, portal page, transactions, webDJava, any other.

When you select SAP UI5 app, you can give URL of your ui5app(bsp app) and launch it directly, without actions. But for Fiori apps, you need to go with lpd_cust configuration.

I have created custom Fiori Like Applications , and its work equally with lpd_cust and without using lpd_cust?

Do you mean for standard fiori application , i need to do the configuration using lpd_cust?

Will standard fiori application configuration cant we do directly?
