Automatic document number assignment while import of CAD structure in SAP PLM ECTR to SOLIDWORKS

Hi,

Is there any option for automatic document number assignment while import of CAD structure in SAP PLM ECTR to SOLIDWORKS.

Currently I set the value as master in DType under <Document_create,    assuming that the document number will be taken from the filename of the SLDPRT/SLDASM original..

But it is not..

Any suggestions...

Hi Arun,

you can set the value of "document_number_assignment" to "external". Then you have the possibility to change the document number in the Import on Demand-Dialog manually.

To change the document number automatically during the document creation process you can implement the BAdI /DSCSAG/DOCUMENT_02~DOC_CREATE_BEFORE. Unfortunately the filename is not available there. But you can maybe use the description to put the filename into the BAdI.
