How to monitor the performance of a single Transaction, BAPI, Function module

Former Member

We have specific transactions, BAPI's reports and Function modules that we want to monitor.

For example:

We have a custom transaction in our CRM production system called ZCLB , we want to know if on any single occasion the response time of that transaction is > 3 sec  , we also want to know if the average response time is above > 2 sec.

We have a custom transactional RFC function module ZLOY_BALANCE. This is called from external systems. Again we want to know if on a single occasion the response time of this function module is > 3 sec or the average response time is above > 2sec.

We can see the information in ST03 in the CRM system.

However we want to use solution monitoring to monitor and send alerts for these transactions, RFC's etc.

We can setup overall performance monitoring and alerting for DIALOGUE processes, RFC's etc.

We can setup monitoring for business processes.

We can setup monitoring using ICMON for RFC connections.

But we can't find anywhere in solution manager to monitor and alert on specific transactions, Function modules etc ...

Can anyone help.

Hi Tony,

I think that the best approach is to implement the EEM (End Experience Monitoring) so you can get the response time from the user point of view, this functionality is built in the SolMan so you won't need to install nothing new, only configure it.
