ECC to S4 HANA Replication

Hi All

Hope you are all doing well? I am looking to have tables replicated from SAP system with HANA DB to S4 HANA system using SLT.

I am aware of the fact that we need to define a RFC between source and SLT. But from SLT to S4 , do we need to create a DB Connection or is it a RFC

Thanks

Hi Poornima,

You can use DB connectivity for SLT to S4.

Hi Poornima,

I think both are possible. Either you consider your target as an ABAP system or as a Hana DB.

I have no real clue on the pros and cons of both scenarios. , why will you recommend a DB connection ?

Hi Frederic,

No specific reason but I prefer DB connection if its HANA.

With RFC connectivity sometimes there are issues, I guess DB connectivity with HANA is more effective.

Thank you for all your responses, I did think about the DB connectivity option. The only thing is on S4 (Target system) there will multiple schemas created. Due to which the modelers may have to build view to leverage the schemas
