Web Dispatcher as Reverse Proxy

Hi All,

We are trying to redirect the user to a different URL when SAP ECC AS is down.
User is interacting with the application through a simple HTML Based web application(No Enterprise Portal/WDA).

After doing a lot of research, i found out that we should configure the Web Dispatcher as Reverse Proxy to achieve this. But, i am only getting information on these in context of SAP Enterprise Portal.

Kindly, share some resources or suggestions in case of only SAP NW ECC and External Web Application related landscapes.

Hello Sahil,

The Web Dispatcher will have the same features and work in the same way disregarding whether its backend system is a Portal or an ECC.

So, what you have already found should work for the ECC system as well.

Hi Shail,

We configured Reverse Proxy using web dispatcher for cloud for analytics,I think it depends on your configuration,

we have the same situation like yours, our end users where using simple web browser to redirect the url to target system.(in our case we have two target system that are both Hana system and Cloud for anlytics)
