Please suggest Upgrade Path of SAP LVM 2.1 Enterprise Edition

Dear Gurus,

What is the upgrade path to upgrade SAP LVM 2.1 Enterprise Edition??

I have on SAP LVM Enterprise Edition 2.1 SP0 latest is SP07.

Please suggest the upgrade path. How to deploy .SCA files??

Hi Qazi,

You can refer to the official installation guide for LVM at this link:

SAP Landscape Virtualization Management 2.1, Enterprise Edition – SAP Help Portal Page

In short your update procedure looks like this:

#1 You MUST export your existing configuration using LVM Export/Import feature under "Setup".

#2 Take a backup of your LVM system

#3 Deploy the latest SP using SUM

#4 Restart SAP AS Java where LVM is deployed (i.e. restart the entire LVM system)

#5 Import your configuration from Step #1

#6 In SAP Landscape Virtualization Management, choose quick link "Info", to check which SAP Landscape Virtualization Management edition you are currently using

Thanks Adarsh for your reply.

I am unable to find out Patching scenario in Installation Guide.

It has Upgrade path from 1.0 to 2.0, 2.0 to 2.1 and Migration scenario from Standard edition to Enterprise edition.

How to deploy just new SP stack 07???

Hi Qazi,

Yes, you are right, not everything is covered in the installation guide and we are planning to update the guide soon with additional information/scenarios. The update procedure will be clearly explained in the next SAP Note for SAP LVM 2.1, SP07 Patch01 as well.

Is this a LVM related issue ?
